You may be thinking at this point, OK, I’ll agree to resign as the Director of the Universe but… I want to be able to do my part. What CAN I Direct?
How about becoming the Director of your dreams ? As Co-creator of your life, you’ll earn rewards far beyond what you imagined! In this new role, you’ll partner with the Universe to manifest at the speed of light.
- Prior experience with sleep
- Prior experience with dreams
- Willing to try a new form of manifesting your ideal reality (called the hypnogogic state or lucid dreaming)
Sound like a role you might be interested in? Let me give you a realistic job preview so that you can learn a bit more:
As the green blob comes hurtling at you, sweating and trembling, you take the laser gun and zap it. Then, you watch in amazement as the monster that has haunted your dreams since childhood shrivels up and shape shifts into a pink butterfly. You instantly feel relief and release upon waking .
Creating your own reality in dreams is called dream spinning, and it works in meditation, too. In addition, this practice begins to spill over into our daily waking life, giving us new found control over our being and experiences.
A lot of research is being done on the benefits of facing our worst nightmares and fears. In our dream state, we are learning, we are actively participating in creating our reality by receiving messages and guidance from our intuition, higher self, our angels (whatever you feel most comfortable calling it).
When we start to break down our nightmares or fears, they become less and less scary and then have less control over our waking life.
The black bear that chases you out of the office may actually represents your fear of not being good enough to start a new business or get the new client or big contract. By focusing on loving yourself and reminding yourself that you are worthy by Divine birthright , you can look the bear in the eye, thank him for the reminder, zap him and force him to exit your dream.
The cool part about this job is that virtual reality is a safe place to take on menacing bears, and even intimidating clients or bad bosses.
Let me give you some tips for the first day on your new job. Start to gain control by establishing the intent of your meditation or dreaming in advance. Face your fears head on.
Then, like a director of a film, you can control your actions by directing them and then increase your chances of getting the desired results. For example, rather than simply think, I want t that bear out of my office, Direct the bear, say: “Bear, leave my office now.” If you’ve got a sense of humor ask him to bring back some coffee for you and your new client 😉 .
Taking control on your terms
While this is the realm of fantasy for many, for folks who have taken control of the hypnogogic state (also known as lucid dreaming) it is a real state. And one of the most powerful states one can achieve. Think of it as your virtual playground. And, it can be accessed more frequently if you choose to incorporate this practice into your meditations as well.
Improving dream recall can enhance your meditation experience in the hypnogogic state. Meditations, like dreams, are often connected.
It is a good idea to keep a meditation journal. Note story lines, symbols, images, and so forth, and observe how they develop. Dream recall is an important part of your personal development.
Remember that your subconscious mind is talking to you in meditation and dreams.
Messages are not likely to be obvious but cryptic so do not disregard anything. A red circle may seem irrelevant to you at the time of the meditation but write it down anyways. You will be surprised at how often these seemingly unimportant images come to have great significance.
The important thing to remember is that the ability to control your visualizations in the lucid state provides opportunities to solve problems, address fears and work on personal development. Your meditation may lead you deeper into the scenario you imagined or it may take you somewhere else altogether.
Ready for the job but… want some help?
I don’t know about you but, whenever I start a new job or explore a new skill… I like to know if there are any particular tools or proven strategies that will help me to get up the learning curve faster.
Personally, I’m no expert in lucid dreaming, but I do love the results I’ve found from interpreting my dreams and the messages I receive during meditation. Many times I have asked for guidance and received it – LOUD and CLEAR! And, I have found with the help of brainwave control methods such as brainwave entrainment, it is easier for me to enter the hypnogogic state and take control.
I LOVE to meditate and have used many different meditation Mp3s/CDs (yes, I still have a CD player, I know that seems ancient and outdated) and even introduced Jerry to several of my favorites along the way. So, my list of good ones is LONG but, I’ll just point you to one in particular today that I think you’ll enjoy, called Brain Evolution.
Please enjoy your journey, have fun playing with your new role and number one rule for the newbie.. STAY ALERT – do not fall asleep on the job.
OR Even better (as far as I’m concerned)
